Win A Taxi Winners

After a rainy week in Joburg, the clouds cleared on Friday 4 February 2022 for our biggest Win A Taxi Draw yet! This came after the postponement of the December and January draws which was done in the interests of everyone’s safety as we were in the thick of the 4th wave of infections.

The competition saw ten Taxipreneurs walking away with R10 000 each and two of them driving away in a Quality Renewed Taxi every month since August 2021. This was SA Taxi’s way of supporting our loyal clients in dealing with the financial hardships brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On that beautiful Friday morning, we gave-away a whopping R200 000 to 20 Taxipreneurs and hosted 12 of them at our Midrand Dealership for the draw. After multiple unsuccessful attempts from our finalists, Portia Tsambe from Mpumalanga drew the winning combination that opened the save safe. She could not contain her elation as she kicked off her shoes and danced in celebration. Speaking after the draw she said, “I would like to thank my family for constantly supporting me”. This taxi will be added to the share of her family’s taxi business which was started by her father who has always encouraged his children to join the industry.

Following in the winning streak, Fortunate Mazibuko from Spruitview who was representing her husband took to the stage and drew the second winning combination. This new addition will be their 5th taxi from SA Taxi Direct. “The past two years have been tough but SA Taxi was so supportive and understanding when we couldn’t pay. That’s why I was so keen to come here and represent my husband” she said after the draw.

The last two taxis went to Flagstaff in the Eastern Cape. The first was won by Thobile Phillip Tshibongo who has been in the taxi industry for five years. He started as a taxi driver and saved up to buy his first two taxis. “I am so happy that I will come back and buy my next taxi from SA Taxi. SA Taxi has made me feel so welcome and at home”, he explained happily.

The final taxi was won by Andile Ndayi who has been in the taxi industry for over 15 years. He was over the moon to add this taxi to his fleet of six as it will help him pay for the three taxis he is financing through SA Taxi. Mr Ndayi is a proud Taxipreneur who says that even though he only went up to matric, he has put three of his siblings through university with money he has made from his taxis. “I am so grateful for to the taxi industry because it has helped me with a lot,” he beamed.

During the course of the competition, we gave away 12 Quality Renewed Taxis and R600 000 to Taxipreneurs.
