One thing we can all agree on is that South Africa is a beautiful country. From our deserts and seas to our mountains and valleys. September is Tourism Month and now that tourism is slowly coming back to life we can go out and see our country! This Tourism Month, hop into a taxi and explore our land!

Here are three hand signs you can use on your journey around our magnificent country.

1. Durban

Famous for its year-long warm weather and beautiful beaches, Durban is one of South Africa’s most beloved tourist destinations and has an array of activities like UShaka Marine World, Moses Mabhida Stadium and Sun Coast Casino. After a long day of touring South Africa’s Playground, point your index finger downwards and move it in a circular motion for a trip to the popular South Beach for a relaxing stroll or a cooling dip in the Indian Ocean.

2. Cape Town

Ah, the Mother City! Famous for its gorgeous beaches, diverse restaurants and of course, one of the Seven Wonders of Nature, Table Mountain. Getting around in a taxi is as easy as pie (just make sure to not eat an actual pie in the taxi!). So whether you want to grab a bite at Mzoli’s in Guguletu, sundowners on Clifton 4th Beach or a leisurely hike up Table Mountain, all you have to do is stand at the stop and wait for a taxi with a Gaai’tjie (conductor) shouting your destination. Raise your hand and jump in!

3. Kwa-Thema

Put your palms together as if to pray and visit the hometown of musician Joe Nina and footballers Innocent Mayoyo and Eudy Simelane. When you get hungry, grab a Kota from one of the many family-owned tuck shops you will pass on most streets. If you stick around till late, you will be in for a great night of dancing at Bahama Bar, a popular party spot that attracts patrons from far and wide.

Wanna go somewhere else? A simple Minwana Phezulu will get you from A to B! Here are some other tourist sites you can visit in South Africa:
