SA Taxi Auto Parts brought light to Black Friday
SA Taxi Auto Parts brought light to Black Friday and left taxi operators with heavy pockets
With over 50 deals on offer at this year’s two-day Black Friday sale at SA Taxi Auto Parts, the retailer opened its doors for the hustle and bustle on the first day of the sale to the taxi industry. Whilst moving commuters from point A to point B-lack Friday, one wonders if taxi operators ever get the chance to do their own shopping for their families and most importantly, their businesses. With a lot of retailers shifting their focus to online specials, it’s become convenient to do your Black Friday shopping without leaving your desk, not for the taxi industry, and that’s why SA Taxi Auto Parts opened its doors for two days so taxi operators can work from their ‘desk’.
SA Taxi Auto Parts hosted a variety of consumers ranging from taxi operators, taxi drivers, school transportation operators, and tour travel operators with the convenience of dropping in after a trip and getting parts from as low as R500 for a sliding door shell. They offer a wide range of quality renewed taxi parts that are washed, inspected, tested where possible, and labeled with high precision so that they are ready for sale. These include, but not limited to engines, panel parts, lamps, and electrical components.
The Black Friday deals on promotion were suitably catered for the customer’s pocket in an effort to alleviate financial pressures on the taxi operators as a result of the Covid-19 lockdown, moreover, this will ensure minibus taxis will be fitted with reliable parts for safer, multiple short-distance trips, long-distance trips and ensuring the safety of commuters during this festive season.
Activities for the Black Friday event included an in-store mystery scratch card activation that ran concurrently with established SA Taxi Auto Parts in-store promotional pricing, bundled deals, and “bargain bins” that had items for as little as R1. Shoppers who spent R100 or more were handed a scratch card at check-out, revealing an instant mystery prize which added a surprise and delight element to the campaign that saw shoppers walking away with a lot more than they bargained for. Scratch card giveaways included mobile phones, free windscreen fittings, wristwatches, and a whole lot more. One of the winner’s Joseph Macuacua a taxi operator from the DorljotaTaxi Association said “This year’s Black Friday came at an ideal time for me as I managed to buy parts on special whilst having the opportunity to save money to spend with my family this Christmas. I believe SA Taxi Auto Parts should have these types of specials every three months instead of November only.”
Maroba Maduma, Communications Executive at SA Taxi says “SA Taxi is proud to host such initiatives as a way to give back into the industry and put money back into the taxi operator’s pocket. SA Taxi will continue to support the growth and development of the minibus taxi industry to ensure sustainability and impact. Whilst noting that Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year and the frenzy seemingly increases in popularity from one year to the next, we have been cautious of the year that 2020 has been and we had put strict measures to ensure that our customers are safe and protected from Covid-19.”
The incredible employees came together to deliver outstanding customer service during these two days, offering efficiency and a convenient shopping experience for all customers. Despite new process improvements and safety measures implemented over the last several months, SA Taxi Auto Parts has made approximately 5.9% less sales compared to the previous year which speaks to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Capacity planning was essential for the organization during this time to ensure that the over 570 shoppers did not experience the notorious retail shop chaos of Black Friday and for employees to confidently cope with increased shopper volumes whilst adhering to the health protocols. This proved to be a great success and a different retail experience and we’re looking forward to seeing what’s next from SA Taxi Auto Parts.
